THE GLOBAL POLL IS NOW OPEN
For seven weeks, four contestants from all over Europe took part in a unique challenge. Whilst travelling on a budget throughout Europe, each week we threw a new challenge at Ben, Livia, Matt and Alasdair as they backpacked their way through the world, sharing their experiences along the way. Having come that far, the time has now come to decide the winner, who will walk away with $5000.
The end is now looming near and the contestants are arriving back home from an exhausting Gamescom in Germany. The time has come to decide the winner and for that we are opening a global poll. What the contestants have earned points wise is only a small portion of the campaign and the winner will be decided by a large public poll (counting for 40% of the grand total) and a deliberation by Dell/Alienware staff (for another 40%). The remaining 20% the contestants have already earned by completing the challenges of the past 7 weeks.
Now it is up to the public to decide who they think has performed the best overall. This means the contestants need no longer be judged on their performances during the challenges, as that is only part of the big picture, but we urge the voters to let their hearts decide on who has gone out there and put themselves in new situations. Who has been the most creative and who has been able to captivate you with the story they have been telling over the past months.

The contestants arrive in Cologne for the final
The end of the campaign is drawing near and it is becoming crunch time for our contestants. They are now arriving in Cologne, anxiously awaiting the end of the final and the announcement of the winner. Before that however, they need to complete a couple of minor tasks and we will also open up the global poll for the entire campaign which will be deciding the overall winner.
What the contestants have done so far is only part of the entire ride and counts for only a small percentage of the overall total of the voting. Most of the votes will have to be collected now as we are nearing the finish line. So keep an eye on the site for the closing details and the overall vote!

New challenge: Week 7
Week 7, the last real challenge week for our contestants and the last big challenge we throw at them. They have given a lot to this challenge in the past weeks and now the time has come for them to share their best (and worst) experiences. Click read more to find out about the rest.

New challenge: Week 6
The finish line is fast approaching so it is time to throw another challenge at our contestants. Last week we asked them to make an advertisement and viral video and make sure it spread as quickly as possible. This week we are staying in the same direction but are taking a slightly different approach.
The contestants need to create a video reenactment of the most memorable gaming scene in their life. They need to think about what is the most memorable gaming scene they have witnessed and reenact it on video. Could it be Link saving Princess Zelda or could it be something else, it is up to the contestants. They can go out and find costumes, actors, props and more to make their video the best possible but they need to be involved every step of the way. This challenge has two parts. Part one is the creation and publication of the reenactment and part two is a seperate blog explaining their choice and methods used.
